Shana received her double degree of Bachelor of Laws and Commerce from the University of Western Australia in 2015. After completing her practical legal training, Shana was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2016. Shana is also admitted in the High Court of Australia.
Shana regularly appears in the Magistrates Court and the Family Court of Western Australia. Shana has also appeared in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, and has also conducted trials in the Children’s Court, Magistrates Court and District Court.
Shana has extensive experience in Family Law and Criminal Law which makes her well-equipped to deal with complex issues such as family violence, physical and emotional harm to children and coercive control. Shana has the ability to act for clients in both Restraining Order proceedings and Family Law proceedings, providing her clients with a single point of contact.
Shana practices in all aspects of Family Law and understands the importance of providing her clients with realistic and practical legal advice as they grapple with what is, most often, a very difficult and trying period of their lives. Shana adopts a collaborative practice approach, where possible, to try and achieve the most effective outcome for her clients.
Coming from an immigrant background, Shana is aware of the cultural dynamics prevalent in Asian families. Shana can converse in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Shana believes in everyone having a right of access to justice and is a member of several Legal Aid Western Australia panels. Shana is on the panels for both Criminal and Family Law matters, including Restraining Order matters.
